LANShare User Guide
LANShare has two roles: the host, who shares their screen, and the viewers, who watch it. Everyone uses the same app.
Requirements
- Windows 11 on every computer.
- All computers on the same local network, or on the same Radmin VPN network.
- For the best results, use a wired (Ethernet) connection on the host.
1. Download and open LANShare
- Download LANShare and extract the
.zipto any folder. - Open
LANShare.exe. There’s nothing to install. - If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway. This happens because the app isn’t digitally signed yet.
- If the Windows Firewall asks, allow LANShare on private networks. Without this, other computers can’t find or connect to your room.
2. Choose your name
On first launch, LANShare asks for your name. It’s shown to everyone in the room and saved on your computer, so you only need to do this once. You can also set a profile picture.
3. Host: create a room and share your screen
- Click Create room. Optionally, set a password — viewers will need it to join.
- Click Start streaming.
- Choose what to share: an entire monitor or a specific window. Previews help you pick the right one.
- Pick the resolution (720p or 1080p) and frame rate (15 or 30 FPS), and start the stream.
While streaming, you can:
- switch to another monitor or window without stopping the stream;
- see who’s in the room;
- remove (kick) a viewer;
- close the room when you’re done.
4. Viewer: join a room
- Click Join room.
- Rooms on your network appear in the list — double-click one to join.
- If the room doesn’t appear, enter the host’s IP address manually.
- If the room is protected, type the password.
Press F11 to watch in fullscreen.
Using Radmin VPN
If the computers aren’t on the same physical network:
- Everyone installs Radmin VPN and joins the same network in it.
- Open LANShare and follow the steps above — the room should appear in the list as if you were on the same LAN.
- If it doesn’t, connect manually using the host’s Radmin VPN IP address, shown in Radmin VPN.
Streaming quality depends on the connection between the computers. If the stream stutters, lower the resolution or frame rate.
Troubleshooting
- The room doesn’t appear: check the firewall (step 1) and make sure you’re on the same network; then try connecting by IP.
- The stream stutters or lags: use 720p or 15 FPS, prefer a wired connection, and close bandwidth-heavy apps on the host.
- The password doesn’t work: passwords are case-sensitive — double-check with the host.
